Chapter 13 Luo Xingyun

Luo Xinghe let out an “oh,” got dressed, and left the house.

Luo Xingyun was the third son of the Luo family and was currently in his final year of high school, about to graduate.

The Luo family’s reputation wasn’t great, nor was it terrible—and a big part of that was thanks to Luo Xingyun and his younger sister, Luo Xingqiu.

Because of the family’s influence and power, these two held the status of “boss” figures at school, causing quite a bit of commotion.

They stirred up all kinds of trouble.

Fortunately, the Luo family’s power was enough to suppress it all.

But even so, the family’s reputation had steadily declined because of these incidents.

As for how Luo Xinghe handled his little brother?

Simple: if he didn’t behave, he got a beating.

Ever since Luo Xinghe transmigrated here and began preparing for his eventual confrontation with Zhou Shuai, he’d spent the last three to four years lifting weights and secretly seeking out martial arts masters for training.

Though he didn’t have much time to really cultivate or engage in real combat, dealing with a high schooler? Luo Xinghe figured he could beat him with one hand tied behind his back.

He quickly arrived at the school.

But when he went to look for Luo Xingyun’s class, he saw the classroom was empty and the door locked.

Confused, Luo Xinghe stood outside the classroom door.

“Isn’t there supposed to be half a day of school on Saturday? Where is everyone?”

A bespectacled woman nearby responded, “Hey—who are you, and how did you get in here?”

Luo Xinghe recognized her—his little brother’s homeroom teacher.

Since the Luo family had fallen from grace, Luo Xingyun had been causing even more trouble at school.

Back when the family was at its peak, teachers didn’t dare call home. Even if they did, no one from the Luo family had time to come.

But now that he had more free time, Luo Xinghe had already met this teacher a couple of times.

The teacher, Jia Qing, walked over and also recognized him. “You’re here for Luo Xingyun?”

“There’s no school today—it’s a holiday.”

“Luo Xingyun left yesterday.”

She held a stack of books tightly in front of her chest, blocking any accidental exposure.

Her lovely face was partially hidden behind oversized glasses, concealing much of her beauty.

But to Luo Xinghe’s trained eye—

If Jia Qing dressed up a little, she could absolutely rival a celebrity.

Especially with that figure—absolutely explosive.

Too bad she was always hiding behind books or bags like that. What a waste.

Luo Xinghe’s expression twitched at her words.

That little punk… didn’t even come home last night.

Where the hell did he run off to this time?

Clearly, I went too easy on him.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Luo Xinghe said, “I didn’t know. That brat didn’t come home—I thought he was still in school.”

Jia Qing frowned. “Xingyun’s brother, not to be rude, but Luo Xingyun really causes too much trouble.”

“He just got into a fight not long ago, and now he’s bullying girls in his class.”

“He’s about to take the college entrance exam—he really can’t keep being this immature.”

Luo Xinghe let out an awkward laugh. “Got it. I’ll straighten him out when I get home.”

“Sorry for the trouble, teacher.”

After Luo Xinghe left, another teacher quietly walked up behind Jia Qing and whispered:

“What are you talking about? Don’t you know who that was?”

“That’s Luo Xinghe—the Luo family’s eldest son. Why do you think Luo Xingyun acts so recklessly? It’s because the Luo family still protects him.”

“You’d better be careful not to offend them. Even a ‘dead’ camel is still bigger than a horse.”

Jia Qing was stunned. “That Luo family? The one that’s always in the news?”

“I heard they lost all their assets recently?”

The colleague immediately shushed her.

“You dare say that out loud? Don’t spread it around—be careful who you offend.”

“Stuff involving high society? Who knows what the real story is.”

“You just came back from teaching in the capital. Be cautious. Rich people are unpredictable—you never know what they might do.”

Jia Qing stood in a daze, staring at the back of Luo Xinghe as he walked away.

She didn’t think Luo Xinghe seemed all that fierce or intimidating…

On the contrary, he was actually quite polite to her.

Maybe high society isn’t as scary as people imagine…

Luo Xinghe left the school, face dark with frustration, and stood at the school gate making a call.

Very quickly, Luo Xingyun picked up.

“You little brat, where are you?”

“Got guts now, huh? Out all night and didn’t come home?”

“Where the hell are you?!”

At that moment, Luo Xingyun was at a KTV with a bunch of his buddies, singing and having the time of his life.

Since childhood, Luo Xingyun had grown up under the protection of the Luo family, using its power to act with impunity.

Thankfully, he wasn’t bad at heart—he never caused any major trouble, just liked gathering a bunch of lackeys to show off a bit.

The Luo family was different from other aristocratic families—they never sent their kids to elite schools, to avoid them picking up bad habits.

At public schools, no one really knew the difference between the Luo family or the Song family—either way, even if the Luo family went bankrupt, they were still richer than most.

So Luo Xingyun wasn’t really discriminated against at school.

But he knew the truth.

His big brother had run the Luo family into the ground. Soon, he wouldn’t have the family name to rely on anymore.

The manor, the company—even the hidden bodyguards that used to surround him were all gone.

The second-generation heirs of other families he used to hang out with didn’t even acknowledge him anymore.

Luo Xingyun was feeling pretty down about it.

But what could he do? It wasn’t his decision.

He had some resentment toward his big brother Luo Xinghe, but not much.

In his eyes, the cold and always-busy elder brother from three or four years ago—always buried in business and work—was actually less approachable than the one now delivering takeout.

That cold guy used to leave him completely alone. Now? He was getting chased and beaten for bad grades and lack of ambition.

He was finally starting to feel a bit of family warmth.

Of course, stricter rules also came with some frustration—like right now.

It’s just a day off. What’s the big deal about going out to have some fun?

Still, Luo Xingyun nervously said to his buddies, “Guys, I gotta bounce. My big bro’s coming for me.”

His friends panicked too.

They might not know the difference between nobles and commoners, but they had seen Luo Xinghe.

That muscular build… who wouldn’t be intimidated?

Dude had an eight-pack. Total beast.

And kids are generally scared of adults anyway.

They quickly said:

“Cloud Bro, better get home, quick.”

“Told you we shouldn’t have stayed out all night… My dad’s probably waiting for me too.”

“Yeah, yeah, let’s all go.”

Luo Xingyun, now flustered, hurriedly spoke into the phone: “Bro! Bro, don’t be mad, I’m coming home right now!”

But as he ran out in a panic, he didn’t look where he was going—and ran straight into someone.

Just as he was about to apologize, a big hand grabbed him by the collar and lifted him clean off the ground.

“You punk, walking around without watching where you’re going? You looking to die?!”

The guy was huge, dressed in a suit and wearing sunglasses—clearly a bodyguard for someone important.

If it were anyone else, they probably would’ve backed down right then and there.

But Luo Xingyun?

He was once a core member of the Luo family.

He’d seen this kind of scene too many times before.

So he blurted out: “Who the hell do you think you are, talking to me like that? Don’t you know who I am?!”

The big guy froze for a second—clearly recognizing him—and didn’t say anything. Instead, he turned to look at the young man behind him.

The young man narrowed his eyes… it was Luo Xingyun.

His expression instantly changed.

“Well, well… Aren’t you impressive.”

“The Luo family, huh? Still think it’s the same Luo family from three years ago?”
